Before you agree
- Read the full listing, condition, pickup method, size, and carrying needs. Ask about defects, recalls, missing parts, and whether you need another adult or a vehicle.
- Look for specific, current photos. A badge, rating, or verified credential is a limited platform signal—not proof that a person or item is safe.
- Keep communication in Dibs. Never share an OTP, password, Apple credential, payment code, or unnecessary personal information.
- Never send money to a giver. The item is free. If using a courier, choose and pay a legitimate third party directly rather than transferring a “courier fee” to the giver.
Choose a safer meeting
- Prefer a busy, well-lit public place during daylight. Barangay halls, staffed building lobbies, or other monitored locations may be safer than an isolated address.
- Tell a trusted person where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to return. Bring another adult for large items or home pickups.
- Arrange your own transport. Do not enter an unfamiliar vehicle or allow pressure to change the location unexpectedly.
- Limit exact address access to the confirmed participant and remove unnecessary address details from messages after the handoff.
Inspect before accepting
- Check that the item matches the listing and stop if it appears stolen, prohibited, contaminated, recalled, counterfeit, or materially different.
- Do not plug in, operate, lift, install, consume, or transport an item unless you can do so safely. Use professional help for electrical, gas, structural, child-safety, or medical concerns.
- For electronics, the giver should remove accounts and data; the claimant should reset and update the device before use.
- Either participant may cancel. Do not use a completion confirmation to pressure someone to accept an item.
Protect your privacy
- Do not put a home address, phone number, government ID, payment detail, school schedule, or children’s information in a public listing.
- Check photos for documents, house numbers, reflections, faces, and location clues.
- Use blocking when you do not want further contact. Blocking is a product control, not a substitute for contacting authorities when someone threatens or follows you.
Report concerns
Use the report control on the relevant listing, profile, or conversation and include concise facts. Dibs may preserve marketplace records and take proportionate action, but does not guarantee a particular outcome or immediate review.
For a support follow-up, email hello@rpinnotech.com. Do not email passwords, OTPs, full IDs, payment details, or unnecessary private addresses.
What Dibs does not promise
Dibs does not inspect every item, perform government-ID verification or background checks, guarantee human review within a stated time, guarantee that prohibited items will be detected before publication, insure handoffs, or guarantee member conduct. Safety tools reduce some risks but cannot eliminate them.
